Barcelona 2006

The European Ink Jet Conference continues to attract large numbers of delegates who came to hear the latest developments, both markets and technology. This year we had some great speakers and lots of new delegates we haven't met before.

It was a busy week for the hotel, with the President of Spain attending a lunch for 1,200 on the Tuesday!

Top speakers
All of our speakers did a great job and overall scores were very high. The top 5 presentations rated by attendees were:

1 John Corrall, Industrial Inkjet (representing KonicaMinolta)
2 Dr. Moshe Frenkel, perfecta jet
3 Tracey Stephens, Xennia
4 Marco Boer, IT Strategies
5 Steve Temple, Xaar

Our exhibition area, where attendees could display their sales material and samples free of charge, was well utilised, with networking continuing through the breaks and the evening receptions.

Al Keene, President of IMI opening the 14th Annual European Ink Jet Conference, back in sunny Barcelona this year

Top-rated speaker John Corrall from Industrial Inkjet, representing KonicaMinolta, discussed advances in KM's printhead technology

Dr. Moshe Frenkel from perfecta jet talked about coatings to improve print quality, and brought along some colourful examples to prove the point

Tracey Stephens of Xennia described the development and commercialisation of a UV-curable ink for thermal ink jet printheads

Marco Boer of IT Strategies talked about
wealth creation in the industry, and the recent mergers and acquisitions

Steve Temple of Xaar discussed ink jet as a digital coating system, plus new engineering and medical applications

Our receptions are great times to unwind and enjoy each others company. This is the Ink Jet Academy and UV Course reception.

The Ink Jet Conference was almost sold out,
so next time we will need to find extra capacity

Lunch was an extensive buffet of Catalonian dishes

Part of the lunch seating was in the 'garden',
which is roofed over in case of rain.

The evening receptions were a great time to meet speakers, exhibitors and to make new contacts and friends

Here for once poor James can't get a word in!

Many industry vendors took advantage of
free table top space at this event

No one goes away hungry or thirsty at IMI conferences

Discussions carried on during the evening between the delegates

Some vendors brought along exhibits and technology demonstrations

Happy times! This is what a couple of bottles of Cava can do!
